Electrical Project Engineer Co-op
I worked three co-op rotations at Honeywell Intelligrated, where I had first hand experience in electrical design and troubleshooting. During my time there, I commissioned sites in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Georgia. While in office, I created electrical models, layouts, and schematics for various conveyor types. After completing design work, I led design reviews with engineers to present and discuss any necessary alterations to the models. In addition to electrical design, I generated network designs for conveyor system communication.
First Term
During my first term at Intelligrated, I learned how to use AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. This is an important lifelong skill that is valuable to electrical engineering. Throughout my semesters at Intelligrated, I worked in AutoCAD daily. I also learned how to communicate as an engineer through email. This is important because this is a skill that will be used throughout the entirety of my professional career.
Second Term
During my second term at Intelligrated, I learned how to efficiently design electrical systems for conveyors. Designing is an invaluable skill in engineering that can be applied throughout the industry. A soft skill that I mastered was taking initiative and building professional relationships. This is important because initiating and communicating professionally will allow me to continue to network successfully as I develop my career.
Third Term
During my third and final term at Intelligrated, I learned to commission and troubleshoot issues in the conveyor systems on site. Troubleshooting is a crucial skill that will allow me to approach and solve problems efficiently. As a co-op veteran, I was able to develop my leadership expertise. Throughout my last term, I helped train younger co-ops and lead meetings to discuss my designs. This skill will allow me to step into engineering roles confidently and be an excellent mentor and colleague.
